As part of our celebration of British Science Week, Class 2 have been investigating the link between the size of a person's hand and their grip strength. What better way to measure this than trying to pick up a selection of increasingly hefty fruit - from a grape to a watermelon! Â
The children had a great time measuring the fruit and then trying to pick it up with one hand, from the top. It was not as easy as it may sound! Â
After much discussion, it was decided that it was not only the size of the person's hand but the surface of the fruit that made the most difference. A canteloupe was quite easy as it had a rough texture. Â
You can see how we got on, in the photos.
