Class 2 2026 - 2027
🌟 Welcome to Class 2!
.
Welcome to Class 2 – a busy, happy and creative classroom where children are encouraged to learn, explore and grow together!
Class 2 is a mixed-age class of Year 2, Year 3 and Year 4 children. We are proud of our friendly and supportive classroom, where every child is encouraged to be curious, have a go and develop confidence as an independent learner.
👩🏫 Meet the Class 2 Team
Class Teacher: Miss Hints
Miss Hints is supported throughout the week by our wonderful team of teaching assistants: Mrs Farmer, Miss Wiggins, Mrs Battrick and Mrs O'Dowd.
Together, we work as a team to make sure that every child feels happy, valued and ready to learn.
📚 Learning in Class 2
There is always lots happening in Class 2!
We enjoy a broad and exciting curriculum, with opportunities for children to develop their knowledge and skills while making links between different subjects. We encourage children to ask questions, share their ideas, work collaboratively and take pride in what they achieve.
We also make the most of our wonderful outdoor environment, with regular opportunities to learn outside and develop practical skills.
🌳 Forest School
Thursday afternoons | 1.00–2.00pm
Forest School gives children the opportunity to learn, explore and develop practical skills in the outdoors.
Please make sure your child brings their Forest School kit each Thursday and is prepared for the weather – we go out whatever the season!
🏃 PE
Tuesday afternoons
Children can come to school wearing their PE kit on Tuesdays.
🏠 Learning at Home
We believe that learning doesn't stop when the school day ends. Our homework is designed to reinforce key skills while keeping learning at home manageable and enjoyable.
✏️ Weekly Homework
Homework is set on a Monday and should be completed by the following Monday.
-
Spelling Shed – weekly spelling activities to help children practise their spellings and prepare for their weekly spelling test.
-
Magma Maths – a weekly maths activity to reinforce learning from school.
-
Half-termly projects – children will also have a practical homework project linked to their curriculum learning.
📖 Reading
Reading regularly at home makes a huge difference to children's confidence and progress.
We encourage children to read with an adult at least three times each week. Every time they read at home with an adult, they earn a star on their Reading Rocket.
And there's an extra incentive! 🌟
Regular readers are entered into our half-termly prize draw to win a new book.
🎒 Don't Forget!
Please remember to bring:
💧 A named water bottle every day
🧥 A suitable coat for the weather
🌳 Forest School kit on Thursdays
🏃 PE kit on Tuesdays
💛 Our Class 2 Community
We want Class 2 to be a place where children feel safe, happy, included and excited to learn.
We celebrate effort as well as achievement and encourage children to be kind, resilient and respectful members of our school community.
We are looking forward to a fantastic year together – learning, laughing and making lots of memories along the way!
