We went to the zoo! (And it didn't rain)

How we managed it I do not know, but in Tuesday, Class 2 joined the rest of the school on our trip to Chester Zoo and it did not rain. Not really.  We even had lunch outside.  The children enjoyed a fabulous day seeing all the animals and this will help us greatly as we discuss different animal types as part of our work on skeletons.

In Maths we have been revising and developing written methods for subtraction.  The children have really made progress and, in the case of Year 3, learnt a quick and simple method that should help them as the numbers get bigger and the challenges more challenging - column subtraction.  Get your child to show you!

In Topic, we were learning eight points on a compass.  We found North in our classroom and set about creating a compass on the floor.  We have also been revising the seven continents and I apologis if you have had to listen to a ceratin song over and over again!

As part of our history lessons we learnt about the uniform of a Roman soldier and how they fought.  And in PE we started to play table tennis.
