The admission arrangements for our school can be found on the Shropshire Council website alongside an application form and detailed instructions. We recommend that parents read the Starting Primary School page. Our Published Admission Number is 8 children per year group, however this may vary according to birth rates and new housing.

If your child is due to start school in Reception in September 2026, you may apply through your local council from November 2025. The deadline for applications is 15th January 2026.

For mid-term transfers, Shropshire Council coordinate and allocate all requests for places at our school. We welcome prospective parents to visit our school, please contact the school directly to make an appointment. If you wish to apply for a place, please complete the online application form via this link https://next.shropshire.gov.uk/school-admissions/ . Your application will be processed by the school admissions team at Shropshire Council in accordance with our school’s published oversubscription criteria. You will then be notified of the outcome of you application

If your child is not well or is unable to attend school for another reason, please inform the office by phone between 8.00 and 8.45 on the morning of absence explaining the absence clearly. Please leave a message if you are unable to speak to a member of the team. If we do not hear from you, we will get in touch to find out why your child is absent.

Some items of uniform (mostly items with the school logo), can be bought from our online school supplier, School Trends https://www.schooltrends.co.uk/uniform/WoorePrimarySchoolCW39SQ , whilst others are easily available, at very competitive prices, at local shops including supermarkets. A complete list of the items needed for school uniform including those for Physical Education and Forest Schools is outlined in our policy.

We allow parents/carers to choose the branded items of uniform from our uniform supplier or unbranded items from local supermarkets/shops at more competitive prices. Some parents/carers may also choose a ‘mix and match’ approach. We aim to consult with different suppliers of school uniform on a regular basis to ensure we are able to provide best value for money.

The school also has a range of second-hand items which parents/carers can purchase at minimal cost. Items are arranged in the school reception area for parents/carers to view.

If we have available spaces in our nursery, it may be possible to apply for extra hours to top up your child’s current school hours in nursery. Please make an enquiry to Mrs Ward the headteacher or Mrs Roberts the nursery leader and they will inform you of any spare hours that are available.
